Facing a burgeoning elderly population and a shortage of qualified caregivers, CAPABLE aims to emphasis the centrality of social and healthcare sector in European policies. Centered on the EU Care Strategy, CAPABLE aims to make social care careers more attractive and to provide workers with the skills needed to deliver high-quality services. The project starts from the acknowledgement of the urgency of the situation: by 2030, an estimated 4.3 million care worker positions will need to be filled across Europe.

CAPABLE addresses this challenge through a multifaceted approach:

  • Upskilling the Existing Workforce through reskilling and upskilling initiatives, fostering career progression and job satisfaction.
  • Attracting New Talent by improving working conditions and promoting the social care sector as a viable career path.
  • Enhancing Service Quality with innovative methods and tools to deliver better care for vulnerable individuals.
  • Promoting Worker Mobility by fostering harmonization of training and qualification frameworks across Europe.

Type of service

Support the Central Directorate for Labor, Training, Education and Family – Family policy coordination service in managing the partnership and implementing planned activities for the exchange of experience among partners. The goal is to improve policies supporting care services for the EU’s growing elderly population, ensuring competent care and attracting new talent. Manage capacity building activities on the regional territory with local stakeholders. Participate in international experience exchange events. Manage communication, dissemination and promotion activities of the project results.
