About us
Informest was established in the 1990s on the initiative of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia with a clear mission: to promote the economic development of the territory and open new paths to internationalization. Established under Italian Law 9/1/91 n.19, it has followed the progressive enlargement of the European Union and the changing European strategies and policies, and today it is a reference point for the management of European and national funds, with a tangible impact on local communities.
The Role of Informest since 2014
In 2014, the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia – 99% shareholder of Informest – entrusted Informest with the strategic task of implementing EU objectives, particularly those of the Europe 2020 Strategy, and supporting local authorities in Friuli Venezia Giulia in making the best use of European funds to improve quality of life, services, infrastructure, and the environment.
Since 2022, as part of the regional governance for the implementation of investments related to the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), Informest has been providing operational support to the Technical Secretariat, contributing to the implementation of strategies defined by the regional Steering Committee of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR Italia Domani).
Recognized since 2003 as a Full Mandated Body for directly managed EU funds, it collaborates with the Region to maximize the opportunities offered by European funds, ensuring that Friuli Venezia Giulia is ready to face future challenges.
Engagement with Local Communities
What truly distinguishes Informest is its ability to engage communities. It has developed innovative tools to promote local participation, raise awareness about Europe, and initiate innovation processes, delving into key sectors and themes of the European Union. By collaborating with municipalities and local entities, it helps improve the socio-economic fabric even in the most remote areas of the region.
Territorial Cooperation and European Projects
Informest has also played a fundamental role in the creation of the EGTC GO, the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation between the municipalities of Gorizia, Nova Gorica, and Šempeter-Vrtojba, demonstrating its vision of integrated and cross-border development. With experience in over 200 European projects, each with an average budget of 2.5 million euros, and a network of over 900 contacts among governments, NGOs, universities, and research centers, Informest is a central player in the growth of Friuli Venezia Giulia and in building a sustainable future for its communities.
