The Regional Administration has been awarded the title of European Entrepreneurial Region (EER 2024 award), a recognition given to regions and cities that have presented a credible, forward-looking, and sustainable strategic vision in terms of innovation. Our region was awarded for its commitment to transforming its production system, orienting it towards the Industry 5.0 paradigm, and achieving climate neutrality by 2045, as established in the L.R. FVGreen.

The strategic vision is based on promoting the twin transition (digital and energy) also implemented through cooperation in the hydrogen sector – thanks to the recent establishment of the so-called North Adriatic Hydrogen Valley/NAHV – and with the introduction of measures to support youth entrepreneurship. The North Adriatic Hydrogen Valley, in particular, is expected to act as a catalyst for attracting investments in start-ups, spin-offs, and SMEs active in the new sectoral supply chain, capable of using hydrogen for the decarbonization of the industrial, energy, and transport sectors (so-called hard-to-abate).

The EER 2024 Action Plan is structured around three main axes:

1. Sustainable entrepreneurial growth (START action cluster);
2. Digital transition (DIGIT action cluster);
3. Green transition (ENER action cluster).

In these three areas, the Action Plan sets tangible and achievable goals to be reached in 2024 and the following three years.

Furthermore, the Industry 5.0 paradigm permeates the entire vision, focusing growth and employment on: sustainable, circular, and regenerative consumption models; technologies integrating human capabilities with increased well-being; independence from fossil fuels; energy efficiency; and biodiversity protection.

For the financing of the 3 action clusters (for a total of 14 actions), the Regional Administration uses a combination of local, regional, national (PNRR), and EU funds (Next Generation EU, Repower EU, etc.).

The implementation of the Action Plan is ensured by a Governance architecture involving representatives from the FVGreen Steering Committee, Labor & Enterprise Development Agency, APE, IP4FVG, ARGO system, NAHV, while the “Cluster FVG” and “Municipalities for the Twin Transition” Working Groups ensure, in a bottom-up logic, the sharing of information and contributions with businesses and local entities.
