The fifth Steering Committee meeting of the Twinning Project MK 24 IPA AG 01 24 approved the quarterly report and work plan, confirming progress in aligning North Macedonia’s phytosanitary system with EU standards. Advances were achieved in IPM, legislation, laboratories and monitoring activities. Technical missions continue, including training on pine wood nematode prevention.
The final conference of the BioTech2Agri project will take place on 23 September 2026 at Villa Russiz in Capriva del Friuli. The event will showcase project results and bioeconomy innovations supporting sustainable agriculture. Institutions, researchers and businesses will discuss trends, investments and European partnerships, followed by networking opportunities, interpretation services and a closing dinner.
The “Bridges of Europe” Award promoted by the Europeanist Academy recognizes theses, research projects, personalities, organizations, books and artistic works that advance European values and European Union integration. The call includes two categories focused on academia and cultural contributors, highlighting cross-border cooperation and the strategic role of Friuli Venezia Giulia within the wider European space today.
Informest took part in the ComPA FVG 2026 Summer Camp in Paluzza with two training modules focused on European policies and international project design. The sessions explored megatrends, EU programming and funding opportunities, providing practical tools and strategic perspectives to support sustainable development, innovation and the capacities of local administrations across Friuli Venezia Giulia.
Within the European Union funded Twinning project aimed at strengthening North Macedonia’s phytosanitary services, technical and training activities continue alongside legislative alignment efforts. Field missions, monitoring through pheromone traps and studies on harmful organisms, including Capnodis tenebrionis, support knowledge transfer, institutional cooperation and the protection of agricultural production across the national system.
From 15 to 17 September 2026, Izola (Slovenia) will host the eleventh edition of the Mediterranean Coast and Macro-Regional Strategies Week, a well-established event dedicated to discussing the role of macro-regional strategies and promoting territorial cooperation across the Mediterranean.
The CRESCITA project, co-financed by Interreg Italy-Austria and led by Informest, was launched in Udine to strengthen climate resilience in inland Alpine areas. Partners and stakeholders presented objectives, digital tools, training activities and Nature-Based Solutions. Pilot sites in Italy and Austria will test innovative approaches until March 2028, supporting local climate adaptation efforts.
On 28 July, the launch event of the Italian Presidency of the European Union Strategy for the Adriatic-Ionian Region (EUSAIR) was held in Rome at the headquarters of Unioncamere, marking the beginning of a new phase of macro-regional cooperation guided by the Presidency’s motto centred on identity, cohesion and European integration.
The 12th Bioeconomy Report highlights the sector’s growth across the EU27 and Italy’s leading position. Innovation, biotechnology and circular economy models are driving sustainable development. Through the BioTech2Agri project, Informest and Cluster Agrifood FVG supported Italian and Slovenian SMEs, strengthening competitiveness, collaboration and the sustainable valorisation of biological resources throughout the cooperation area.
ComPA FVG, in collaboration with Informest, is launching a 36-hour training programme on European project design for local authority staff in Friuli Venezia Giulia. Informest is responsible for course design and teaching activities. Running from September to November 2026, the programme combines online and in-person lessons, strengthening practical skills for European funding opportunities.
