From 15 to 17 September 2026, Izola (Slovenia) will host the eleventh edition of the Mediterranean Coast and Macro-Regional Strategies Week, a well-established event dedicated to discussing the role of macro-regional strategies and promoting territorial cooperation across the Mediterranean.

On 28 July, the launch event of the Italian Presidency of the European Union Strategy for the Adriatic-Ionian Region (EUSAIR) was held in Rome at the headquarters of Unioncamere, marking the beginning of a new phase of macro-regional cooperation guided by the Presidency’s motto centred on identity, cohesion and European integration.

IPA Adrion event: Informest participated in Rimini at the IPA ADRION event dedicated to capitalising results of Interreg programmes. The importance of synergies, transferability and dialogue among stakeholders was highlighted. The initiative strengthened cooperation’s role in generating lasting impacts, supporting future policies, and enhancing good practices and knowledge across programmes and various diverse European territories.

On 16 and 17 June 2026 in Gorizia, the fifth Project Steering Group of the EUSAIR Facility Point project took place. The state of progress was analyzed regarding activities, deliverables, and project outputs. Particular attention was paid to thematic experts, issue papers, and preparation for the Italian Presidency. It also outlined next steps and timelines.

The EUSAIR TSG2 meeting addressed the update of the Transport Master Plan, focusing on a sustainable and multimodal system in the Adriatic-Ionian area. The EMTM model update for 2023 with scenarios was presented. ADRION role, EU alignment, youth involvement, and the 2026 work programme with forum and conferences were highlighted and future initiatives relevant key.

It concluded in Skopje the 11th annual EUSAIR Forum, held from 18 to 20 May 2026. The event brought together European institutions, governments and actors from ten participating countries, marking the handover of the Presidency from North Macedonia to Italy, which will lead the Strategy from 1 June 2026 to May 2027 for year mandate.

The 23rd meeting of the Thematic Steering Group on Energy, TSG2, of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic-Ionian Region, EUSAIR, was held online on 20 April 2026. Institutional and technical representatives discussed energy priorities, macro-regional cooperation, and implementation of the new Action Plan amid current European geopolitical challenges within a evolving policy and security landscape.

On 3 and 4 December 2025, the fourth Steering Group Meeting of the EUSAIR Facility Point project took place in Ljubljana. The project is funded by the Interreg IPA ADRION Programme 2021–2027. The meeting brought together project partners to review the progress of activities and to define operational priorities for the upcoming period.

The “Thematic Workshop on the EUSAIR Energy Master Plan for the Adriatic-Ionian Region: Perspectives, Priorities, and Developments” was held in Trieste on November 27, 2025, alongside the 22nd meeting of the Thematic Steering Group Energy (TSG2).
