On 25 February 2026, at the Kugy Hall of the Regional Government Palace in Udine, Informest organised a meeting with regional stakeholders of the SFP – Strategic Foresight Partnership project, aimed at initiating a dialogue on the application of Strategic Foresight to education and training policies.

The initiative was attended by the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, as an associated authority of the project, represented by the ESF+ Managing Authority, the Training Service and the Cabinet Office, together with the main actors of the regional education and training system: accredited training providers, ITS institutes, regional clusters, universities and ComPA FVG.

During the meeting, Informest presented the objectives and activities of the SFP project, launching a joint reflection on education and training policies financed by the European Social Fund, which represents the policy area where the SFP project finds its operational application at regional level, in view of the post-2027 programming period.

The meeting benefited from a remote contribution by Salvatore Finamore, member of the Analysis and Research Group at the General Secretariat of the Council of the European Union, who provided participants with a brief introduction to Strategic Foresight, and from the contribution of Corrado Campobasso, Informest analyst, who presented an overview of the main Strategic Foresight experiences applied to the futures of Education and Vocational Education and Training (VET).

In the coming months, the project foresees the involvement of the regional group through exchanges of experiences, capacity building activities and the application of future-oriented exercises within a participatory and multi-stakeholder approach. In-depth seminars, both in person and online, as well as opportunities for discussion on good practices shared by partner regions in France, Poland, Catalonia, the Czech Republic, Finland and Ukraine, are also planned.

The meeting represents a further step towards strengthening a regional governance model focused on anticipating change and strategic planning of education and training policies, fostering increasingly informed and future-oriented decision-making.
