On Friday, June 20, at the Biblioteca Antica of the Collegio Marconi in Portogruaro (VE), the presentation event of the new Interreg Italy-Slovenia BioTech2Agri call, aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises in the agri-food sector, will be held. A strategic opportunity for companies in Friuli Venezia Giulia, the province of Venice, and Slovenia, called to confront the potential offered by biotechnologies.

The project aims to strengthen European competitiveness by promoting the adoption of biotech innovations in agrifood, nutraceuticals, cosmetics, and the feed sector. The heart of the initiative is the creation of a cross-border innovation ecosystem, where knowledge circulates among public and private actors, stimulating sustainable development and long-term cooperation.

The event – organized by Venetian Innovation Cluster of Spinea, in collaboration with Informest and the Italian-Slovenian partners – will start at 10 am with greetings from the mayor of Portogruaro Luigi Toffolo and regional councilor Fabiano Barbisan. This will be followed by significant interventions, including those of the president of Venetian Cluster Gian Angelo Bellati, Darjan Gande (Microbium Ltd), Andrea Rigoni (Rigoni di Asiago), Barbara Moretti, and Maria Valentina Vanceo, who will illustrate the call in detail.

Through an open call, the project will offer technical and economic support to selected companies, helping them integrate biotech solutions into their processes. Among the expected benefits are greater efficiency, reduced environmental impact, new products, and stimulation of the local economy.
