A new call has been published for the selection of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the agrifood sector based in Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, and Slovenia. Selected companies will benefit from a customized innovation support package worth €5,000, fully funded by the BioTech2Agri project.

The deadline for submitting applications is September 23, 2025.

The aim of the call is to support agrifood companies in exploring and adopting innovative biotechnological solutions, mapped within the BioTech2Agri project, by offering them support valued at approximately €5,000. A total of 40 companies will be selected: 20 from Italy and 20 from Slovenia.

Applications are open to SMEs located in:

Italy

• Friuli-Venezia Giulia: Pordenone (ITH41), Udine (ITH42), Gorizia (ITH43), Trieste (ITH44)
• Province of Venice (ITH35)

Slovenia

• SI038 Coastal–Karst Interior Region (Primorsko-notranjska regija)
• SI041 Central Slovenia Region (Osrednjeslovenska regija)
• SI042 Upper Carniola Region (Gorenjska regija)
• SI043 Gorizia Region (Goriška – Severnoprimorska regija)
• SI044 Coastal–Karst Region (Obalno-kraška regija)

Each selected company will receive a personalized service package provided by the BioTech2Agri project partners, including:

1. Technical Feasibility Assessment – Analysis of the applicability and technological feasibility of the selected biotechnological solution within the company’s context;
2. Business Plan Draft – Development of a potential business model;
3. Funding Guidance – Tailored support to identify relevant European, national, and regional funding opportunities for implementing the innovative solution;
4. Cross-border Networking Event – Participation in an interregional matchmaking event to foster new connections across sectors and borders, with the aim of transforming or expanding the value chain.
