Interreg GO 2025: The Annual Interreg Event on European Cooperation Held in Gorizia

27 March 2025

The Interreg Annual Event 2025 is currently taking place in Gorizia and Nova Gorica. This yearly gathering, organized by the European Commission, aims to promote and discuss the results and future perspectives of Interreg territorial cooperation programmes. Co-organized by the Interreg VI-A Italy–Slovenia Programme, the event is a key opportunity for dialogue among institutional representatives, sector experts, and young people, with the goal of strengthening cohesion policies and fostering new collaborations between European territories.

The choice of Gorizia and Nova Gorica as host cities carries strong symbolic value: the twin cities, which in 2025 will become the first cross-border European Capital of Culture, embody the spirit of integration and cooperation at the heart of the Interreg programme. The event spans multiple venues across both cities, offering participants an immersive experience in the cross-border context.

Event Programme:

  • March 27 – High-level event on post-2027 perspectives, with the participation of European political representatives.
  • March 28 – Thematic sessions on Interreg 2021–2027 programmes and visits to projects funded by the programme.

Additionally, on March 26, a limited number of participants took part in activities and site visits organized by the Interreg Italy–Slovenia Programme and EGTC GO!, exploring the territory and its most significant initiatives.
