European Commission institutional visit concluded within the EURADRIA 2026-2028 project

29 May 2026

Helmut Lechner, Head of European cross-border partnerships activities at the Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion of the European Commission, took part in the institutional visit organised within the EURADRIA 2026-2028 project by the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia – Central Directorate for Labour, Training, Education and Family, project coordinator – with the support of Informest.

The visit provided an opportunity to present regional measures for workers and companies, with a particular focus on services dedicated to cross-border mobility. During visits to the employment centres in Udine and Trieste, the regional organisational model of public employment services and the territorial coordination actions developed within the EURES network were also examined.

Regional Councillor Rosolen, speaking during the visit in Trieste, stated: “Friuli Venezia Giulia represents an advanced laboratory of European integration and cooperation among public employment services, trade unions, companies and institutions. EURADRIA is a concrete tool that supports workers and businesses in an increasingly integrated and international labour market, offering qualified services and targeted responses to the needs of cross-border workers.”

During the visit, each project partner had the opportunity to present its work and commitment both to improving the matching of labour supply and demand and to supporting cross-border workers and companies through the Infodesk in Friuli Venezia Giulia and the Slovenian regions of Goriška, Obalno-kraška and Notranjsko-kraška.

In addition to the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and Informest, the EURADRIA 2026-2028 project involves the patronates INAS SLO, INCA SLO, UIM SLO, the trade unions CGIL, USR CISL FVG, UIL FVG, OSO KS90, business support organisations on the Italian side SDGZ/URES and SERVIS, and on the Slovenian side PGZ and OOZ Nova Gorica. Associated partners include CSI Nordest, the Ministry of Labour and the Employment Service of the Republic of Slovenia ZRSZ.

The visit in Friuli Venezia Giulia is the only one scheduled by the European Commission within the activities of the six cross-border partnerships funded at European level for the 2026-2028 period under the EaSI programme (EaSI-EURES – Cross-border partnership and support to cooperation on intra-EU mobility for social partners and EEA countries), as part of the European Social Fund Plus dedicated to supporting intra-European labour mobility.
