On July 9 and 10, in Sarajevo, the partners of the EUSAIR Facility Point project gathered for the third Steering Group Meeting: a strategic opportunity to take stock of ongoing activities and outline the path for upcoming initiatives within the EUSAIR Strategy.

During the meeting, several key topics were addressed, starting with updates on the activities planned by the thematic Pillars, with particular focus on events and technical groups scheduled for autumn 2025. The capacity-building program developed by the Slovenian partner, the Municipality of Izola, was shared, and the Presidency program for EUSAIR 2025–2026, recently assumed by North Macedonia, was presented. A central moment of the meeting was the analysis of the project’s progress and financial performance, in preparation for the mid-term review scheduled for mid-2026.

The second day offered a more interactive format, with discussion sessions on the mechanisms for implementing the Strategy. Participants explored the strategic tools currently in use, impact pathways, and the various roles played by involved actors, laying the groundwork for a shared and more effective approach.

The Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia also took part in the meeting as a project partner and Italian representative within the EUSAIR Strategy, accompanied by Informest, which provides technical, administrative, and operational support to the governance structures. Their joint contribution focused particularly on the role of national coordinators, the work of Pillar 2 “Connecting the Region” (Transport and Energy), and the activities carried out by the National Focal Point within the EUSAIR Facility Point project.

Participation in the meeting reaffirms the commitment of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and Informest to strengthening macro-regional cooperation, promoting sustainable, integrated, and shared development in the Adriatic-Ionian area.
