On October 2nd, at the headquarters of the Port System Authority of the Central-Northern Adriatic Sea in Ravenna, the conference “ICT Strategies and Solutions for Port-Hinterland Integration in the Adriatic and Ionian Region: State of the Art and Future Perspectives” was held.

The event, organized within the framework of the European Union Strategy for the Adriatic-Ionian Region (EUSAIR), was promoted by the Emilia-Romagna Region in collaboration with the Institute for Transport and Logistics (ITL), the Port System Authority, and Pillar 2 “Connecting the Region” of the Strategy.

The conference was an important opportunity for dialogue among institutions, experts, and industry operators, focusing on the strategic role of digitalizing the logistics chain and intermodal integration to improve the competitiveness and sustainability of transport in the Adriatic-Ionian region.

Among the speakers was Prof. Pierluigi Coppola, Coordinator of Pillar 2 Transport, who emphasized the value of ports as key hubs for the macro-region and the importance of extending best practices developed in the Central-Northern Adriatic ports to the entire EUSAIR area.

Key topics emerged during the meeting:

• integration and interoperability of data in transport systems;
• use of digital tools for predictive models and logistics planning;
• use of data for port security and emergency management;
• the need for new skills to address the twin transition (digital and green) in the port sector.

Informest participated in the event as technical support to the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, a partner in the EUSAIR Facility Point project and responsible for interregional coordination of Pillar 2 Transport and Energy.
