Caravana Fondurilor Structurale (Caravan of Structural Funds)

Structural Funds Caravan was a national tour of information seminars addressed to all national and local stakeholders. Its aim was to raise awareness of organizations involved in preparation and implementation of development strategies at regional or local level on concepts and financial instruments of regional development in EU and Romania and to stimulate companies to apply for funding. The project included:

  • Preparatory activities, i.e. the preparation of a guide for regional and local development actors, containing basic information on Structural Funds adapted to target group’s objectives, i.e. preparation of local or regional development strategies, creation of local partnerships, use of opportunities offered by the Structural Funds. The guide, available in the official project web site http://caravanafs.ccina.ro/, also includes focuses on specific issues and references to successful experiences of Italian and European projects;
  • The Structural funds Caravan national tour, with seminars organized in 8 Romanian towns (Constanta, Galati, Iasi, Baia Mare, Brasov, Bucuresti, Rm. Valcea and Timisoara);
  • The preparation and on-line publication of a guide addressed to businesses and business service providers, focused on the advantages that structural funds offer to agriculture, industrial, tourism, trade and service sector companies and on the strict rules that govern the regional and SME aid at European level. A relevant section of the guide is dedicated to the presentation of case studies, both sectoral or highlighting relevant issues regarding structural fund strategies, advantages and regulation.

Dissemination seminars have been targeted to companies to stimulate them to take advantage of the business opportunities offered by the structural funds.
