Final meeting of the Julius project, Friday, April 10, 2015, Basovizza

Friday, April 10, at 9:30 am, will be held at the Learning Center naturalistic Basovizza 224 – Trieste the final conference of the project Julius “Cultural heritage valorization and use of infrastructure in the crossborder area of the Julian Alps” of which the town of Monfalcone is leader.

Speakers will be Gualtiero Pin, Environment Counsellor of Monfalcone Municipality and the responsible of the Joint Technical Secretariat of the Programme CBC ITA – SLO 2007-2013.

Rada Orescanin, Municipality of Monfalcone, will present the project results, Saverio D’Eredità, Informest will illustrate Guide Julius, while representatives of the Park Julian Alps and of Triglav Slovenian National Park will describe the activities carried out in the two protected areas. The speech on “Karst between Geopark and UNESCO” will be done by Gabriele Peressi, Civil Protection.

JULIUS The Project is an initiative funded by the European Cross-border Programme Italy-Slovenia, aimed at improving the quality of life through a joint use of sport and social facilities, from the Julian Alps to the Adriatic, and characterized by the realization, on both sides of the border, of equipped facilities available to the public and of educational and cultural activities, in order to enhance an active tourism in natural areas.

The areas involved in the project are Friuli Venezia Giulia, Slovenia, Veneto and Emilia Romagna. The Municipality of Monfalcone has coordinated all activity carried out in cooperation with the municipalities of Ljubljana, Codroipo, Ampezzo, Jesenice and Postojna, the Association for the development of the culture of climbing, the Triglav National Park, the Union of Faenza Municipalities, the Society for the promotion of the culture of climbing DRPK, Infomest, the ASD Group Mountaineering Modern GAM, the Gal Karst.
