THE CROSS-BORDER COOPERATION PLATFORM OF JULIUS PROJECT HAS BEEN LAUNCHED

28 October 2013

A platform of cooperation that will gather all project partners in joint objectives and initiatives after the end of the project: this is  the solution elaborated by JULIUS project in order to grant the continuation of the important impact that the initiative, funded by the cross-border programme 2007-2013, is having on our territory.

Sustainability: this is, in all its meanings, the keyword of JULIUS project. The platform of cross-border cooperation, that has been set up in these days, is aimed at assuring the continuation, after the end of the project, of the cooperation among Italian and Slovenian partners in the promotion of outdoor sports, in the elaboration and concretization of opportunities for disabled persons in the frame of “natural” sports … generally, in betting on the economic and further potentials represented by the very rich natural heritage of the Italian-Slovenian area.

Hence, while the most important project activities are being finalized (among others, the extension of the Codroipo climbing wall funded by JULIUS project will be ended in these weeks), partners are already working for the future, with the aim of transforming JULIUS project in a significant contribution to the implementation of that smart, sustainable and inclusive growth announced by the EU 2020 strategy.

The cooperation platform has been launched during the Open Days 2013 in Brussels in the presence of the President of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and council member that expressed their interest and appreciation for the initiative. The platform will be formally signed in the forthcoming months also by enlarging the partnership to other local stakeholders such as Natural Parks in order to increase the impact of project results.
