Next 10th October EGTC GO will hold a workshop on the role of the EGCT (European Group of Territorial Cooperation) as fundraiser, focusing on the best practice of EGTC GO, the cross-border EGCT created by the three different municipalities (Gorizia, Nova Gorica, Šempeter-Vrtojba) in the two different countries (Italy and Slovenia) and sharing the results achieved in these years, as the title of “European Capital of Culture 2025 (ECOC 2025)won by Nova Gorica (Slovenia) and Gorizia (Italy), making it the first time that this title is truly cross-border.
The workshop is an opportunity to reflect also on the administrative barriers that still limit the impact of EGTC in attracting investments on the territory.
The event is part of the European Week of Regions and Cities, an annual four-day event during which cities and regions showcase their capacity to create growth and jobs, implement European Union cohesion policy, and prove the importance of the local and regional level for good European governance.
The workshop is organized jointly by Friuli Venezia Giulia Autonomous Region, Municipality of Gorizia, Municipality of Nova Gorica, Municipality of Šempeter-Vrtojba, and the Slovenian Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development.
